What you will be able to do

Produces dimensioned 2D drawings and 3D models to a written brief, checked against review criteria.

Be clear: Software and drawing skills. It is not an engineering or architecture qualification.

The route, step by step

  1. Start here

    AutoCAD

    Beginner · 8 weeks · 96 training hours

AutoCAD 2D drafting, layers, dimensions and plotting.

Portfolio Project: Dimensioned and plotted drawing portfolio for a small building or part

How it is checked: Portfolio project output: Dimensioned and checked discipline-specific technical drawing portfolio. Completion is subject to the course-specific proposed policy below; practical evidence is mandatory. Rubric focus: Drawing tolerance, layer and plotting rubric. Institute certificate only; external/vendor certification separate. Independent final check: A 3 mm printed text sample and a known length verify correctly under the stated settings; the learner reports measured error against the brief. Proposed completion: 70% overall and 70% in the portfolio practical; critical accuracy, permission and privacy failures require correction and observed reassessment. This policy needs academic approval before use for awards.

  2. Then

    2D & 3D Design

    Intermediate · 12 weeks · 144 training hours

Moving from 2D drawings to 3D models and presentation.

Portfolio Project: Portfolio for a small design: a study desk or a 3 m by 4 m room

Independent final check: Two assessors choose the same scale from the revised brief and verify model volume, dimensions and plotted lengths. Proposed completion: 70% overall and 70% in the portfolio practical; critical accuracy, permission and privacy failures require correction and observed reassessment. This policy needs academic approval before use for awards.

Certificate

ADIVAS issues an institute certificate for each programme when its requirements are met: the course weeks, the graded quizzes and, where recorded, attendance. It is an ADIVAS certificate, not an external or vendor qualification, and anyone can check it with its code.
